Privacy Policy - Dot Day

Article 1 (Scope of Application): This Privacy Policy applies to the Dot Day application (hereinafter referred to as the "App") provided by Waitcle (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") and describes our policies regarding the collection, use, and protection of personal information. The Company complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of the Republic of Korea, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). Article 2 (Information Collected and Storage Method): This App does not require account creation and uses Firebase anonymous login. No personally identifiable information such as name, email address, or location data is collected. [User Input Information] - Profile details (nickname, status message, profile picture) - Anniversaries, couple start date, daily notes - App lock PIN (4-digit password, encrypted and stored locally) → All of this data is stored locally on the user’s device and is never transmitted to the server. [Automatically Collected/Stored Information] - Advertising ID (IDFA/AAID): Collected through the Google AdMob SDK. Users can opt out via device or app settings. - In-app purchase data: Product ID, purchase time, status, and authentication token are stored and used solely for verifying premium features. Credit card information is not stored. - Firebase anonymous login UID: Automatically generated and stored on the server, used only for premium feature verification. It is not personally identifiable and can be deleted upon request. - App usage analytics: Basic performance and crash data are collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics. Article 3 (Purpose of Use): - To provide core features such as Dot Day grid, notes, and anniversaries - To verify and unlock premium purchases - To manage premium accounts based on Firebase UID - To deliver relevant advertisements via AdMob - To improve app performance and stability Article 4 (Retention Period and Deletion): - Local user data: Stored only on the device and deleted upon app uninstallation or by using the “Reset Data” option in settings. - Server-stored data: Purchase verification info and Firebase UID are retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and commercial laws, then securely deleted. - Ad-related data: Handled according to Google AdMob's retention policy. Article 5 (Third-Party Sharing): - No data is shared with third parties without user consent. - Third-party services used by the Company follow their own privacy policies: - Google AdMob: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads - Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy - Google Play / Apple App Store: According to each platform's policies. Article 6 (User Rights): - Access and Modification: Users can view and edit their data within the app. - Deletion: All user data can be deleted via the “Reset Data” option in the app settings. - Server Data Deletion Request: Users may request deletion by emailing help@waitcle.com with a screenshot showing their UID. The UID and associated data will be deleted within 30 days. - Ad Personalization: Users can disable personalized ads via device settings. - GDPR/CCPA Rights: Depending on the user’s location, rights such as access, correction, deletion, and data portability are guaranteed. Article 7 (Children’s Privacy): - This App is intended for users aged 13 and older. - We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. - If such data collection is discovered, it will be deleted immediately. Article 8 (Security Measures): - All data transmissions are encrypted via HTTPS - Server data is protected through Firebase security rules and access controls - The app and infrastructure are regularly updated for security Article 9 (Policy Changes): - This Privacy Policy may be updated as needed. - Significant changes will be notified through app updates or in-app notifications. - Continued use of the app after changes implies acceptance of the revised policy.
